Mullumbimby Hospital Birthing Unit is under threat of closure. The hospital will be holding two meetings to decide the fate of the birthing unit , the first being at 10am tomorrow Monday 2nd March, the second at 8:30am on Tuesday 3rd March. Both meetings are being held at Mullumbimby Hospital. We will be holding demonstrations at the times of the meetings to let the Area Health Service know that 200 women per year use Mullumbimby Hospital Birthing Unit and that we will NOT accept it being closed down. It is very short notice due to the lack of publicity around the issue but it is vital that we apply some consumer pressure before they decide and not after. PLEASE ATTEND THE DEMONSTRATIONS AT 10AM MONDAY 2ND MARCH (TOMORROW) AT MULLUMBIMBYHOSPITAL, AND/OR 8:30AM TUESDAY 3RD MARCH AT MULLUMBIMBY HOSPITAL. THE WOMEN OF MULLUMBIMBY AND SURROUNDS NEED YOUR SUPPORT EMAIL AND CALL AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN MAKE BANNERS AND SIGNS IT IS SHORT NOTICE BUT URGENT!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND LOVE TO ALL Vicki McAllister Northern Rivers Maternity Action Group Please call if you need more information or would like to offer some help on 6684 2808.
