Friday 27 February at Goonengerry School Frog and Toad Seminar 5.30pm - 6.30pm Shared Tea 6.30pm - 7.30pm Muster 7.30 - 9.30pm Please wear a long sleaved shirt, long pants and covered shoes. Also bring along a torch. Bring a plate of food to share. Children must be accompanied by an adult Come along to learn how to protect the local wildlife, and help collect toads. Cane Toads are listed as a Key Threatening Process under schedule 3 of the NSW TSC act as they pose threat to local native wildlife. They are poisonous to predators such as snakes and birds. Large toads are known to eat small native animals. The toads also compete with native frogs for food and habitat. Twenty-eight of native frogs have been identified in the Byron Shire. Council is working in partnership with Goonengerry Landcare to control the local cane toad population.
