A Goonengerry resident would like to ask a few questions about the Tweed Lismore Rural Lands Protection Board, bascially a statutory body for providing services to the cattle industry. ISSUE If you own 4ha. or more of land, you have to pay the RLPB a minimum of about $50 p.a. for their services. It is guesstimated that 90-95% of landowners in Goonengerry paying RLPB rates have no cattle and are not benefiting from paying rates. There will likely be an artical on this subject in the local media in the next month or so and it would be good to direct people in that article to a goonengerry.com.au where they can answer a bit a of a survey on the issue and have their say. To get things rolling please let us know what you think by completing our survey: Should Landowners have to pay $50 p.a. for cows if they don't have them?
